How Climate Change Is The Key For Improvement - 2171 Words

Access to information is the key for improvement. For example, our consumption of the world’s resources is arguably becoming unsustainable, and this can be proven plausible with a change in the climate. One may ask, exactly how is climate change related to consumption? This type of information is only one of the things a climate change broker can help with. The Rockies Institute (TRI) is one of these brokers. Their mission is to grow the capacity of individuals, businesses and communities to build resilience and adapt to climate change. In fact, there is already a large network of climate change brokers who have decided to work together by sharing climate data. This network additionally creates opportunities for other climate change brokers to connect with each other and has effectively created a community called the Climate Change Brokers Group (CKB). At the group’s launch event they featured the slogan â€Å"Transforming information into knowledge and climate action.† And with this slogan, the CKG offered a set of challenges. The challenges focused on the quality of the information users are getting and effectiveness and efficiency of information access. CKB and TRI have similar overarching goals: awareness of climate change and encouraging people to take action.
